Foodies

Here is the section about Food/Bouffe ("Fou d'Bouffe"). We will try to post all our meals there even if it's boring food or home pasta with boiled egg like our 2nd dish of this trip!! But it will give an indication on how well we are doing and how many kilos we will be losing or gaining!


COLOMBIA

Langostrinos Al Ajillo (garlicy...mmmh..) with coco rice, and fried banana plantains

Birthday dinner on San Bernardo islands: Lobster Al Ajillo (with coco....and banana....) 

 Calamares and fish cooked by Dona Rosaria (check out our Portrait section)...with a delightful coconut sauce

BOLIVIA/PERU


We could not have left Peru without trying one of its famous specialities: the fried guinea pig (Cochon d'Inde or Cui here in Peru)...fortunately Agnes went for it...Was like rabbit or frog legs...


Succulent red pepper stuffed with Quinoa and served with goat cheese and local honey...mmmmh! By the way...we eat Quinoa almost every day in salad, soups etc...


One of the numerous burgers that I had during our world trip...Peruvian ones are probably the best...this one is called "Stroke"...

Agnes enjoying "Graneda de Trigo" which is a kind of fried pankake made of eggs, potato and veggies together with a quinoa salad.

Nice lunch in Cochabamba with Anthony (my ex-colleague) and Chris, his wife, who are both doing a two year world trip...On the menu: local trout, with broccoli and rice...yummy!

 One of the numerous meat feasts with Kai and Carine...we have been sharing dinners for 14 days in a row..eating meat, meat and meat....what a Bolivian delight...above is Agnes enjoying a classic French meat fondue in Bolivia!

NEW ZEALAND


Nothing to eat on this pic..but it is just to give you an idea of our lunches spots here in NZ...could be worse...


At Hamish & Dominique's: amazing roast lamb and so tasty gravy....best ever + roasted veggies...mmmh...


Again....we were spoilt at the winery cafe: Green lips mussels for me and scallops for Agnes....

MYANMAR


All in all we really enjoyed Myanmar food that was far better that what we were told..and even if it is where our stomach suffered the most after 6 months travelling ;-)


7.30am breakfast at one Inle lake market: kind of rice pancake with spring oignons...

Lunch at the clinic: century eggs salad, rice with shallots & peanuts, spicy fish

Traditional morning fish soup (Mohinga)...delicious as not fishy at all & typical Myanmar curries with rice and peas soup...de-li-cious!

 The best Wifi connection is luckily in a French hotel ;-)...so once a week, we enjoy a treat there...check this out: nice baguette with confit pepper, olives and feta...+ Chocolate crepe for desert.


Crickets stall..wanna try? Don't forget to take out the head and legs...


1st dinner in this local restaurant...Pork, Veggies & Rice were tasty...

I skipped the 2nd dinner as GuiGui has been sick for more than 24 hours...this is his first meal to recover...Rice in boiled water served with a coke ;-)

Chicken is usually pretty good here...even with flies on top...

The recovery period continued: nice "Poulet a la Normande"...

Classic Thai red curry with prawns (we had it with scallops and chicken). One of our favorites...

Yellow snapper cooked with ginger, coriander, basil leaves, garlic and tomatoes...

Char Siu Bun (Sweet bread with pork)...usually good...this one was not and our bellies felt it ;-)

...it was too spicy..but we did it...mmmmh..was great...we love Asia!
